Benchmarks, Schmenchmarks
Not even 24 hours after the G5 was announced, people around the web have started refuting Apple's claims on the apparent speed of their new flagship computer. Oh well, these people just haven't learnt not to trust ANY benchmarks put out by computer-makers. I dare you to find me a page on AMD or Intel's web site that shows the benchmark performance of their processors... more »
Earth-shaking new products from Apple
Woo hoo! The G5 is upon us! I'm talking about the mythological PowerMac G5 that has been promised for years. Wow, and boy, do they deliver! Dual G5 @ 2.0 Ghz with a 1Ghz front-side bus indeed! Read up the full specs on Apple. Besides that, Steve Jobs also made several other product announcements during his keynote address at WWDC today. They released a webcam... more »
Hideous Tribal Carving
Seen in the male toilet of Indulgence, the café where pretentious people of ipoh go to see and be seen. (yes, admittedly I was there...). The nose of the creature is actually a penis. For something less frightening, I've put up a really cute pic of Ginger in my Pets and Animals gallery.... more »
Strange driving behaviour in Ipoh
Look at the two photos below (click to zoom in) for a while and see if you can figure out what they have in common... done? Well in case you didn't get it... these pics were taken at a traffic light, and notice the HUGE gap between the cars. In the 1st photo you can see the car diagonally in front of me, but no... more »

I've uploaded the pics of Adrian's birthday bash at Souled Out taken with my camera. Glad to have met up with so many of you (I'm sure a lot of you were surprised to see me still in Malaysia, eh?)... more »
absence
I meant to make a post yesterday about the availability of new photos in my gallery, but Streamyx was really acting up and i could hardly do anything online.. email retrieval kept timing out, my photo uploads would never complete (leaving corrupted and unlabeled images in the album), and for a while i couldn't even login to my admin section of my photo gallery...... more »
Unending Matrix
Wow.. I've got a headache. I spent about 6 hours in total reading every single comment on Jason Kottke's post about Matrix Reloaded and I've only reached about halfway down the page. Mind blowing stuff. I'm pretty sure a few more pages worth would have been added since I loaded the page this morning. It's amazing what these people are discussing about. From the good/bad CGI... more »
Scan of Glitz newspaper article
I took a pic of the newspaper with the article of my brother sweeping the awards at Glitz last Sunday when it appeared, but only just got around to downloading the pic to my computer, so here it is. click on image to view full size (popup, 303 KB)... more »

Page Scrolling goodness!
Whoopee! Today I stumbled upon something I've been looking for for a long time. (Hmmm.. double 'for's..) A javascript that scrolls the window to the anchor when you click on a link, rather than jumping suddenly to that point in the page. I've wanted to do that on my résumé page for a Very Long Time. I had done extensive searches on google previously and... more »
AppleCentre Midvalley Sale!
The AppleCenter in Midvalley Megamall is having a grand opening sale until Sunday, throwing in lots of freebies for new Macs purchased. I heard from my brother that the 12" Powerbook 867/combo is going for rm7399, with a free Epson Stylus Photo 830, mouse and carrying case. Pretty good deal. I think they also have some rebates available if you trade-in your old PC or... more »
Ipoh on CNN.com
Hey, my beloved hometown is featured on international news! Who'dathunk? Too bad the news isn't exactly good. It's about unmarried couples being fined for holding hands in public. It was getting pretty heated up on local press especially since the people fined were not even Muslim, and since when did mere holding hands become 'indecent behaviour' anyway.. didn't expect foreign press to pick it up.... more »
My brother, in the papers..
Wow, Colin was in yesterday's papers, the New Sunday Times. His band "Shirley's Temple" won 1st prize in "Glitz", a local band compo held in Limkokwing recently. He also won 1st prize (another one) for a duet with Shirley (the person, not the band). Way ta go, bro!... more »
