... and a half
I can't believe it. After yesterday's bonus meatball, it happened again today! I went to Safeway (a supermarket) and bought half a roasted chicken to eat for dinner, but upon opening the paperbag, lo and behold I find a whole chicken in there. Double checking the price label showed that I only paid for the half-chicken.
Today I also picked up my replacement PowerBook battery (which FINALLY arrived) and after charging it up, I ran my powerbook off the batteries during the evening. I had turned off processor cycling (which slows down the CPU when idle), LCD brightness was full, and Airport was on. It could manage 4 hours! If I had used more conservative power-saving measures I could probably go past the 5 hour mark! wowee... I'm impressed!

In your System Preferences, Energy Saver panel, go to the options tab and change Processor Performance to "Highest".
