Sandcastles for adults

Sand Sculpting Australia is an exhibition that is held in conjunction with the Moomba Waterfest in Melbourne from 5th March to 21st March in Birrarung Marr. These are not the sandcastles you build on the beach. They are truly works of art made by talented sculptors from around the world. Pretty amazing and i'll just let the photos speak for themselves. Better yet, if you're in Melbourne, go and have a look for yourself. Proceeds from the entrance fee go to Vision Australia Foundation in aid for the blind and vision impaired.
I've also uploaded a few other photos of the Moomba Carnival.

The first sand sculpture-the one at the entrance on Tourism Victoria, City of Melbourne is my favourite and I'll click back into this pic each time bouts of homesickness for Melbourne hits. And trust me, they hit real bad :(

it's sand but they spray some protective compound on it when they're done so that it doesn't crumble when it rains, but even so it will be destroyed eventually. You can read about how they do it on their web site.
