Early Winter
If snowfall is a sign of the arrival of winter, then it's here already. Falls Creek, one of the Victorian ski resorts, got 20-30 cms of snow last night, a full 7 weeks before the winter ski season officially starts.
While it doesn't snow in Melbourne itself, it was a wet and soggy day yesterday when I went out house-hunting, and though there wasn't any rain today, it was cool and crisp.
I've seen a few nice places yesterday and today, and already put in an application for a 2BR apartment in St Kilda East. It's nice and spacious, with good light coming in through nice big windows in all rooms. It's an older-style apartment block but it looks well maintained and has been recently repainted and re-carpeted and has new blinds. It's not dodgy and run-down like some places I've seen, and I think it's a steal at $220/week.
A few others that caught my attention are some fully refurbished apartments and they have done a very nice job of it. Of course, at a price... they are around $280-$295/week.
My budget is $150/week I'll need to find someone to share the apartment with, whichever I eventually decide to get. Preferably a working professional and a non-smoker. If you are looking to share with an easy-going web designer or know of someone who is, email me.

I've already lived at my current place for almost 9 months already, believe it or not. My current flatmate's gonna finish her uni studies middle of the year and going back to Malaysia for good in August. The rent for the whole apartment where I'm staying now is too expensive for me to take over the lease that's why I'm moving out.
I want to get it all settled before my trip to Ipoh so I won't have to worry about it when I come back to Melbourne in August.

SY, You can find MAC & Bobbi Brown at Lot 10. However the BB counter in Jusco 1Utama is bigger, I think. Go down this weekend lah. Long holiday weekend. And yeah, anything with chocolate is yucks if made in Msia 'cos they use powdered milk. That's why the KitKat/TimTams don't melt on your fingers like the Aussie or UK ones do.
