Moving, again...
Woo hoo.. remember the $220/week apartment I mentioned last time? I put in an application for it and it was approved. I just got my keys this morning and went in to check it out again and take some measurements.
Unfortunately my cool loft bed will not fit. Well it will, but i'll only have something like 20cm clearance from the top of the bed to the ceiling, meaning I won't even be able to sit up on the bed. So I guess I'll have to sell it off and get a lower 'normal' bed-frame. Not that I'm complaining cos i have SO much space in this apartment.
It's not a new and funky as the last few places I've stayed in Melbourne, but it's got it's merits and I'm going to have a good time filling it with stuff.
Although it was a rather cold and damp day today, I managed to get myself a fridge and a washing machine already, from a second-hand whitegoods shop in Windsor. I was also scouting around for furniture, new or used in that area, but ended up taking a tram down to IKEA. Already earmarked a few things I would like to get, but I have to prioritize my purchases, especially since I haven't even bought my airfare back to Malaysia yet. I really should get that done soon. K-mart is also having some Mothers' Day sale on until tomorrow or Thursday with very good deals on microwaves, small appliances and tvs. I guess I'll just have to weigh out which things are 'essentials' and what I can leave out and get them later, maybe during the end-of-tax-year sale in June.
I'm really excited about moving out to my own place (though still contemplating the 'share, or not to share' issue).

there are always the pros and cons.. but sometimes it's nice to have someone to talk to at home :)... i know i kacau my housemate a lot..
it's a bit sad also..but sometimes ..when i'm home alone...i'll wait for someone to come back for some company.. hahha.. shhhhhhhhh

Jon, if you can afford it, DON'T share. Saves you a lot of headache and also shld your bro come over, he can grab one of the rooms. If you need company, hope out. Forces you to get more sunshine and fresh air instead of just being cooped up in the house all day long.
You can convert one of 'em rooms into an office for yourself and the other one solely for sleeping/chilling/relaxing. Wait till the mid-year IKEA sale. Get your couch/dining set then. It'll be really cheap. Want to buy off my single bed? :) It's solid one of pine :)

I was originally planning to move in this weekend, but it seems for feng shui reasons, it'd have to wait until the 12th... which kinda throws off my plans a bit. i can't even have food in the kitchen, nor arrange my furniture or sleep on my bed/mattress at the new place until then...

hahah.. i can't even answer that just yet. I still haven't bought my air ticket but i did go to the travel agent yesterday unfortunately the airline that offered the cheapest fare was already fully booked on the days i wanted to travel (23rd-24th July), so I'm going to go back on Monday and check for other flights.
